Welcome to one of the most exciting times in your life. You’re planning, preparing and anticipating your future with your spouse. The engagement period can be a wonderful time to learn about some skills that will benefit your marriage. It is important to understand the Biblical truths of marriage and get started on the right foot as you begin this long and amazing journey.
God gives us a wonderful illustration of marriage – we, the Church, are the bride of Christ, and Jesus is the bridegroom. This is such a beautiful image of the way marriage was designed by God, as well as a wonderful picture of our love relationship with our God. “The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.” (John 3:29)
Please read through the steps and download the forms below: Please note: Call the church to find out if your rehearsal and wedding dates are available before you return the forms.
Step One: Please read and keep in your files the Pre-Marriage Wedding Instructions & Check-off List as you work through the process of returning forms and scheduling a counseling appointment. Read and return the Wedding Reservation Form with the rest of the forms.
Step Two: Please fill out a Facility Use Form and keep a copy of our CCF Building Rates as there will be a charge to have a wedding at Candlelight.
Step Three: Please read and sign our Candlelight Facility & Parking Lot Lease Agreement if you are planning on having the wedding at Candlelight. Please be sure to read through the lease agreement. Sign, date and return the last page of this document with the other forms.
Step Four: Please call the church and make an appointment at least 6 weeks prior to your wedding date.
Step Five: Pre-Marriage Counseling Questionnaire: ALL couples getting married at Candlelight, or requesting to have one of our Pastors officiate the wedding at another facility, must complete pre-marital counseling appointments. Pre-Marriage Study: Please keep copies of this study as part of your pre-marital counseling appointments.
The Pastor will determine how many weeks of counseling you will need. Couples are required to complete all appointments prior to their wedding date. The Pastor will determine marriage eligibility and assist the couple in Biblical principles for marriage:
“Because of scriptural emphasis placed on the marriage commitment, Candlelight Christian Fellowship desires to help prepare couples for a lasting marriage. Therefore, all couples who are active members of Candlelight and desire to schedule our facility or another facility for their wedding ceremony are required to participate in a pre-marital counseling program. The counseling will assist in equipping the engaged couple with Biblical principles for a successful marriage.”
Your completed Pre-Marriage Counseling Questionnaire, with a photo of the couple, must be returned to Candlelight prior to your first pre-marital appointment.
We are excited that you have chosen to have your wedding at Candlelight or at another facility utilizing one of our Pastors to facilitate your wedding ceremony. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call the church.
