Children of Warrior Winners!!
Heroes are everywhere on T.V. shows and movies, but there are also heroes in the real world. They don’t have super powers, but they are everywhere. In every superhero movie there is a villain, we also have villains in the real world but our villains are hard challenges or people who are make our lives harder.
When my older sister and I were young my birth mother, my villain, didn’t have a very put together life and made unhealthy, sick decisions. Because of those actions she was unable to keep us. Social services had to take us and put us in foster care. By the time I was five years of age I had already passed through five different foster homes and families. Before my younger sister was born we went back to my birth mother, those days with her were as dull and awful as the days in the foster homes that I was put in. Eventually life with my birth mother flew far down the hill and within a blink of an eye, I was in another home.
My birth mothers cousin took us in and a new life was about to begin. We lived in Arizona and the hot days killed us, but then my older sister, only 7 years old, went over next door neighbor’s house and knocked on our door. A woman opened the door, this woman was no ordinary woman she is actually the reason I am writing at all, eventually, she was going to be my hero, my new mother, my life. My sister asked her for some food because we all were hungry. When ________ saw how badly our birth mothers cousin took care of us, she decided to pitch in. she gave us baths, taught us how to eat properly, and clean our house. ________ was a generous person, she even helped when my baby sister was born when (while my birth mother was in jail) and my oldest sister came to live with us. On top of that she also gave us free dance lessons at her studio. Those days were priceless, but it all came to an end when _______ moved back to Idaho because she thought that it was time for her to move back to her home town.
My birth mothers cousin got better with the role as our parent. Then she found a new “friend”. They dated for a while and then decided to move in together. So all 5 kids (my oldest sister who now lives with her father and the other four of us) left our lives, home, and friends behind us and move to another town. There were 9 of us in a 3 bedroom house. In one room were 6 girls. Every day was the same, daycare till school started and then daycare after school till 6 at night. Soon after that we were too much; she decided to give us up. My soon to be new mom got a call saying “the girls are going to get split up if someone does not adopt them” So _________ hung up and flew back to Arizona as soon as she could to come and adopt us. It took three weeks.
We finally got adopted by someone we all deeply cared about. Through our whole life story we had many struggles about many different things but our new mom helped through almost everything, but she was not alone, she had Jesus and she helped us realize that no matter how big or challenging the villain, God can help us fight. We learned many things living with our new mom; like how we are going to have each other through everything and how when life gets hard or you’re struggling we can go to each other first, I have also learned that I am not perfect and no one is because we are all sinners and we are allowed to make mistakes, but we are the ones who have to choose if we learn from those mistakes or not. We will continue to learn tons of new things but one of the main things that we have learned is that being a family is to help each other through everything and to follow Jesus and the path that he has put out for us. I am very grateful that she is my mom, hero, friend, cheerleader, councelor, and fighter. My life is not perfect, we don’t have that much money, but we save and reuse all different types of things. Sure, my family is full of fun moments and we spend times together, but we still have the hard times to. My mom teaches me everything from making my bed to cooking to making wise and good choices with my money I earn and was not just handed to me. My precious mom has made me the warrior that I have become today by teaching and helping me from start to finish, with the good and bad, and with the struggles and celebrations.

Many people have gone through hard times in their life, but God will provide. Romans 8:28 states, “All things will work together for those who love God and for those who are called according to his purpose.” Today I am going to share with you someone that I think is a warrior and their children. Her name is _____________ and her grandkids’ names are _____ and his sister _______.
First off, __________ grandkids live with her full time. Their parents did not make the best decisions, so they got to be with her. They are ___ and ___ years old. _______ is a leader at an Awana program that her grandkids both participate in. ______ helps all around the church from helping with Awana skits to being a camp leader in July. ________ does so much for her grandkids and treats them just like her kids. The Lord has done so much in their lives, and he knew that ________ would take great care of them.
_______ “was” recently being diagnosed with cancer, it maked it hard to do the things she loves doing. Still being very sick and tired, she tried her best to come to Awana and do her regular things. She would go to the doctor’s office and they expected her to be very sick. But, every time she would go to the doctor’s, she would be ok. It was a miracle she was still staying healthy and safe, other than being very tired and not at her fullest self, she was OK! God had been with _______ the whole time, and he knew that many people needed to still experience the love and help that she gives out daily. If you asked anyone who knew her, you would get a response saying that she always give 110%. _______ puts all of her time into making sure that she can be there for every single one of us.
Lastly, God has a completely different mission for each of us to fulfill. ________ had a very important mission: she was able to take care of her grandkids with cancer and still provide for all at Awana. I surely know that _______ has made a great impact on my life. I hope to do the same things that she does and spread the word to as many people as I can.
As you can see, _________ is an amazing person who spreads love and joy to everyone around her. If you ever meet _______ you would see that her love just comes right out of her. Her expiration date was August 3, 2021, and she lived through it, still loving and serving right now.
