Matthew 27 (Part 8)
Pastor Paul Van Noy continues to teach us God's word verse by verse, in the book of Matthew, Chapter 27. In this lesson, we reflect on the story of Jesus' crucifixion, and thieves on both sides of Him, attempting to discredit His power even as they were being crucified in Matthew 27:38-44. Pastor Paul makes a parallel to today's world, as the truth is often stolen from us in countless ways. Hinduism, Buddhism or Islam; any belief claiming to offer truth and hope will result in an endless pursuit of perfection, and hopelessness from failure to do so. Apart from Jesus Christ, the truth is always out of reach, but we can all realize the power of God's grace through forgiveness, and the joy that comes from our faith in the word of God, just as Jesus illustrates to the thief He was crucified next to in Luke 23:43 - "Assuredly I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." (NKJV) References: Isaiah 53:1-12, Matthew 27:38-44, Luke 23:32-43, Mark 15:8 John 10:1-8 John 10:10-11
