AWANA is designed to provide physical, social, mental, and spiritual activities for children. It’s a great way to develop new friends and learn how the Bible relates to today’s needs. The goal is to introduce boys and girls to Jesus Christ and reinforce the life principles found in the Bible. Programs begin at age 3 all the way up to high school. AWANA trains adults & high school teens as volunteers to work in all the programs.
Sunday School: Children are taught God’s Word from the Bible as well as through stories, games and crafts. Security is in place for all children during Sunday School to ensure that each child is safe and secure from all outside distractions.
Trail Life is a Christ-centered, high adventure ministry for boys that endeavors to “be the premier national character development organization for young men which produces godly and responsible husbands, fathers and citizens.” This program, for ages 5-24, centers on outdoor experiences that build skills and allows the youth to grow on a personal level and as a role model for his peers. Living the Trail Life is a journey established on timeless values derived from the Bible.
VBS gives children a chance to experience God’s Word in many fun and unforgettable ways! Each year Candlelight is transformed into a magical land where they come to understand God’s love for them through the Word, fun and fellowship, and the care shown to them by volunteers. In the year 2014, we served over 250 children. Entire families were changed as many of them came to saving faith in Jesus.
Youth & Young Adults
Responding to the spiritual needs of teens is about building trusting relationships. Candlelight Christian Fellowship strives to walk with young people on their journeys from Jr. High School to High School age, recognizing their gifts for ministry, their questions about spirituality, and their desire to make a difference in the world. Our youth pastors, along with their leadership team, inspire, affirm and equip our youth for discipleship and Christian leadership in their lives and in our communities.
The Young Adult Singles Group is a fellowship of anyone who is not married, after graduating high school through the age of 35. The mission of this group is to study the Word of God in order to equip the members of this group for the work of the ministry, worship Him as a body of believers, and minister to our community through acts of service, and sharing the gospel. is focused on putting God’s love into action by giving hope, joy, and fellowship to isolated seniors. We hope you too, will want to help show love to our lonely elderly who have given so much to their families, friends and community. Some of the ways we share God’s love is by providing:
- Monthly birthday parties where we provided personalized gifts, cards, balloons, and music.
- Creating Reminisce boards that honor the memories of residents’ lives.
- Host Christmas Card and Christmas Parties – Cards and gifts to residents and caregivers, photos, games and much more at various elder care facilities.
- Easter Baskets were given to isolated seniors which were distributed by Meals on Wheels. Included in the baskets were personal care items, books, games and food.
- Short-term goal: to deliver personalized birthday gifts to more facilities.
- Long-term goal: to open a welcoming Medicaid facility which is so desperately needed in Kootenai County.
Our ability to continue providing lonely and isolated seniors with positive, social interactions and experiences are dependent on our volunteers and community of supporters who graciously donate their time and talents to our cause.
Thank you for your interest and we hope you can help us bring more meaningful connections and smiles to lonely seniors. More information & volunteer form can be found at https://www.silverangelsfortheelderly.com/
