Usher & Greeter Training

Sunday, May 17, 2026 - 1:30 PM

Our Greeting and Ushering team serves a key role each Sunday by helping people feel welcomed, oriented, and cared for from the moment they arrive. Greeters serve at the main entrances, welcoming people, answering questions, and helping them find where they need to go, including Children’s Ministry and the Welcome Desk. Ushers serve inside the sanctuary, helping people find seats, assisting families, and being available throughout the service.

In a church our size, it’s easy for people to feel overlooked. This ministry helps make sure that doesn’t happen. By simply paying attention and being present, you can help others feel known and cared for.

Serving is simple—just one service each week as a greeter or usher. Join us for our upcoming training on May 17 at 1:30 PM, which includes lunch, where we’ll walk through everything you need to know.

Men's Breakfast

Saturday, May 23, 2026 - 7:30 AM

Men of Candlelight, join us Saturday, May 23 at 7:30 AM for our Men’s Quarterly Breakfast. This is a potluck breakfast, so bring a dish to share. Come hungry and bring a friend. We encourage fathers to bring their sons and invest in the next generation of men.

Please use the NORTH entrance.

The Daniel Project Movie Screening

Wednesday, May 27, 2026 - 6:00 PM

Join us on Wednesday, May 27, for a special showing of The Daniel Project.

This investigative documentary examines ancient biblical prophecies through historical facts, expert insight, and modern events. Rather than relying on sensational claims, the film takes a journalistic approach, looking at what Scripture says and how world events continue to point to the truth of God’s Word.

Dinner will be served early at 6:00 PM, followed by our prayer focus and announcements at 6:30 PM. The movie will begin promptly at 6:35 PM. Come enjoy dinner, fellowship, and a thought-provoking film together with your Candlelight family.

Annual Women's Retreat

Friday, May 29, 2026 to Sunday, May 31, 2026

Candlelight ladies, we invite you to join us for our annual Women’s Retreat May 29-31 at Clearwater Lodge in Newport, WA. Surrounded by forest and overlooking the lake, Clearwater Lodge provides a beautiful setting for a weekend centered on the Lord, meaningful fellowship, and time in His Word.

Throughout the weekend, we’ll gather for worship and Bible teaching, share wonderful meals together, and enjoy time connecting with women from across our church family. Whether you’re coming with friends or hoping to meet new ones, the retreat offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for women in every stage of life.

During your free time, take a walk along the lake, hike out to the cross overlooking the water, sign up for a craft activity, or simply enjoy a quiet moment in the beauty of God’s creation.

This year’s retreat will be especially enjoyable as Clearwater Lodge has implemented several property improvements and facility updates based on guest feedback, making the experience even more comfortable for our group.

You can learn more about the retreat location at: https://clearwaterlodge.org

Newcomers Lunch

Sunday, June 14, 2026 - 1:30 PM

Are you new to Candlelight and interested in learning more about membership? We invite you to join us for our Newcomers Lunch on Sunday, June 14, following the 4th Service. This relaxed gathering is a great opportunity to meet our pastors and staff, ask questions, and connect with others who are new to Candlelight.

After lunch, you’ll have the option to take the next step toward membership by signing up for our 2-Part Membership Class. In this class, we’ll walk through what we believe, how our church is structured, and what membership at Candlelight looks like—with the opportunity to join as a member at the conclusion of the class.

Attending the Newcomers Lunch is not required before enrolling in the Membership Class, but it’s strongly encouraged for those new to Candlelight who haven’t yet had the opportunity to connect with our leadership.

Volunteer with VBS

Tuesday, June 23, 2026 to Friday, June 26, 2026

VBS is almost here, and we’re getting ready for an unforgettable week!

This year, kids will journey to ancient Jerusalem—walking in the footsteps of Jesus and experiencing the world of the Bible. VBS begins June 23, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

We’ll be setting up the week prior, June 15–20, and preparation is a huge part of the ministry! From building and decorating to organizing and preparing materials, this is where it all starts. We also need volunteers during VBS week to help bring everything together. Some of the most meaningful moments happen as we serve side by side—building relationships, sharing laughter, and working together toward a common purpose.

During VBS week, we need group guides, helpers, people to serve on snack team, crafts, and general floaters. The number of children we can welcome into our VBS directly correlates to the number of guides and helpers we have--the more guides, the more children we can introduce to Jesus!

VBS is more than just a fun week. It’s an opportunity to point kids and families to Jesus, invest in the next generation, and share the Gospel in a way that lasts.

This is a week kids remember for years to come—and you can be part of what God does through it.
